Marcus Orlob is an international Grand Prix dressage rider who has built his career through the classical German training system and years of dedicated development in high-performance sport.

Raised in Düsseldorf, Germany, his foundation was shaped by a traditional approach to riding that emphasizes discipline, precision, and systematic progression. His professional education included an apprenticeship at the German Riding School in Warendorf, where he earned his Bereiter FN qualification, one of the most respected certifications in German equestrian training.

This path eventually led him to the United States, where he established himself in Wellington, Florida, now one of the most competitive dressage locations in the world.

His breakthrough into the highest level of the sport came through consistent international results and culminated in 2024, when he represented the United States at the Olympic Games. This milestone marked his position among the elite of global dressage sport.

Philosophy

Marcus Orlob’s training approach is built on structure, patience, and a deep understanding of equine biomechanics. Each horse is developed through a clearly defined system that prioritizes correctness before progression.

Rather than focusing on short-term performance, the training is designed to build long-term athletic capability. The emphasis lies on balance, suppleness, and mental relaxation as prerequisites for all higher-level work.

Horses are trained as individual athletes, meaning that every program is adapted to their physical and psychological development stage. Progress is measured not only in results, but in the quality of movement, consistency of contact, and overall harmony under saddle.

A key aspect of his work is the transition from foundation training to international Grand Prix sport, where technical precision and mental stability must come together. This structured development process is what allows horses under his guidance to progress steadily into top-level competition.
